Saturday grocery shopping FOTD + OOTD

Hi Girlies,

Happy Saturday evening to all! I have officially crossed over as I would rather sit on the edge of my bed and write this entry rather than be out partying. Yes, I am what the youngins' this generation would like to call "old" hehe.

Recently though with this heat, it takes so much energy to do anything out for long. Aside from that my new lifestyle change a.k.a Project Weight Loss has hindered me to stay out too long in the fear of eating anything that I shouldn't be eating (read: ICE CREAM today at SnR and PIZZA!). But this new diet has made me look forward to grocery shopping since I love picking out ingredients for me to whip up! :) So here's today's FOTD.

FOTD mood :)

To liven up my mood, I decided to play around with make up for no reason. It has been a while since I did this so yes it did make me happy. :) I decided to play around with purples for this FOTD but ended up adding some blues and black. Here it is. :)

I found out that taking a picture in front of my lighted train case is god send since the light that comes from the train case is amazing. The pictures I took did not need any flash whatsoever. So I can say I now know where to take vanity pics of myself hehe. :)

A closer look at the eye make up:

For the eyes instead of using a black liner for the lower waterline, to open up my eyes more I used white liner instead. :)

What I Used:

Face:
RCMA CP Foundation
Ben Nye Banana Poudre
Graftobian Pro Powder Foundation for setting and contour
Nichido Peachy Glow Blush

Eyes:
Estee Lauder Palette Eye Shadow for the Purple and Blue
MAC Love Lace
MAC Carbon
MAC Liquid Liner
Prestige total intensity liner for upper waterline
White Eye Liner
Ardell Brow Gel
Fanny Serrano Brow Powder
MAC Browset Girlboy
Max Factor False Lash Effect

Since I had so much fun taking vain pictures of myself in front of my lighted train case, here's one for the road. hehe

Boredom FOTD

I have been pretty bored the past few days considering class was postponed last Saturday, we all wanted our makeup fix. Since I'm undergoing skin recuperation the past couple of days I've been avoiding makeup. Although I really couldn't help myself last night I just needed to put on make up. Just decided to do a simple look since all I wanted was to try my RCMA foundation.

What I used

Face:
RCMA Shinto 2-3 applied with a Stippling Brush
Ben Nye Cover All Wheel concealer applied with a beauty blender
RCMA Setting powder for face
Ben Nye Banana Visage Poudre for under eye, forehead and chin
Nars Casino Bronzer
Flormar Terracotta Blush in 45
In2It Brow Powder

Eyes:
Udpp
MAC e/s Soba base of lid
MAC e/s All that glitters for lid
MAC e/s Sable for crease
MAC e/s Vanilla for brow highlighter
Stila gel liner in black
Estee Lauder Mascara
Ben Nye fantasy fireworks wheel in gold for water line

Lips:
Nichido lip liner in Rosette
MAC lip glass in Oyster Girl

I therefore conclude RCMA is HG quality. It photographs well, enough said! :)

RCMA Color Process Foundation

One of the most favorite brands of makeup amongst MUA's in hollywood is RCMA. RCMA or Research Council of Makeup Artist Professional Products is a line created by Vincent Kehoe in the 60's. The line caters to 139 foundation shades, Blushes and about everything you will need for fx in films. RCMA was created for the profession of film, tv and print thus it is not commercially available. It has no marketing strategy what so ever, not even the packaging is attractive. RCMA is no frills and mainly focused on the development of the product. The most evident reason why this is a favorite amongst artist in the industry is the ability of the foundation to photograph well and how flawless the skin looks on camera whether video or still. Besides, RCMA foundation is 50% Pigmented! Definitely higher than those commercially marketed brands.

The first time RCMA was tried on my skin was when Maui and I had a make-up weekend when she got back from the states. And I was sold. I was crazy flawless, and the best part was If my skin was flawless in person, the better it looked on camera. So now I'm so happy I have them in my train case. :)

I ordered 2 RCMA weels, Wheel 1 is KO 5-8 and wheel 2 is Shinto 1-4. Shinto shades are created for the people who have yellowish-green undertones. Since that line became so famous, the KO line was created as fillers for the lacking shades on the current Shinto line.

Both wheels look very similar and actually almost identical, but after swatching and testing, you will see how different the wheels are from each other. Now proceeding closer at each wheel.

This is wheel KO 5-8, I bought this because I wanted a line that I could use for men. And upon reasearch, the KO 5-8 and Shinto 5-8 wheel were the ones recomended for males. But none the less this can also be used for females. :) I initially chose KO 5-8 instead of Shinto 5-8 because I was already getting Shinto 1-4 and didn't want another Shinto Wheel.

This is the Shinto 1-4 wheel with its corresponding swatch. Maui used Shinto 2-3 for my face months ago when it was first tried on me. And I am still Shinto 2-3. :)

Here's a photo of the KO and Shinto swatch together for comparisson.

KO 5-8 Top Row
Shinto 1-4 Bottom Row

Now from the swatch they look very very very similar, but from what I have noticed, the Shinto line is a tad bit more yellow and warer than the KO shades. To illustrate further their differences, I mixed the first 3 shades of the top and bottom (since from the swatch the first 3 colors of KO 5-8 and Shinto 1-4 are very similar to each other).

Without Flash

With Flash

After mixing the first 3 colors each from the KO (top row) and Shinto (bottom row), the difference can now be clearly seen. The Shinto (bottom row) shows that it is warmer than the KO (top row). The KO definitely is the "in-betweens" of the Shinto shades. This is useful for those who aren't too keen on mixing their foundations.

Overall, I am very excited to use this and happy looking in my train case with these RCMA inside. I'll definitely use my RCMA foundation when I know I'll be taking pictures. Haha.

As a bonus, here's an image of me and my girls using RCMA foundation (taken months ago).

Earlier this month, I finally ordered the products I've been wanting to get for the past couple of months. Most of the items I got were part of the "December Wishes" post and even though its past December, better late than never. :)

Today, they arrived and I couldn't wait to pick the package up from my courier. Here it is :)

I had been very patient yesterday staying home and not calling the couriers and following up my package. While, since Thursday last week I had been calling them endlessly because I was just so darn excited! I mean how could you not get excited to receive a package like that? :) I would definitely like to thank my mother whom, allowed me to use her credit card to make these purchases. Yes girls, I do not own a credit card and that is by choice! I do not trust myself with one (I picture online purchases with a credit card as easy as buying candy in the sari sari store) and I don't like having debts, hence I do not have one, so thank you mom for letting me use your credit card. :) Here are other images of the loot. :)

December Wishes

Its December already, and my does time go by fast. This year has gone past in a breeze, a lot of things have happened and fortunately I consider them good things. :)

This year has been full of love. I welcomed the year with my love my boyfriend, I entered a job closer to what I studied in college and of course, my passion for makeup has just evolved.

I always look forward to December not only because of Christmas but because December i also my birth month! :) I always feel this every year. The feeling that December just came too fast and too soon, but it still shocks me every time. It just sucks though how sometimes, well quite often than not I end up celebrating my birthday and Christmas at the same goes for presents haha.

I turn 23 this year but I wish I was 21 forever hehe. I really feel that next year once January sets in, whatever I decide to do next in my life has to be the goal and what I really want to do. I have declined a few job offers recently that would pay bills but I know in t he end it will make me unhappy. Therefore I really have to be sure with my next steps. And right now, I really am considering make up as a profession. I have taken the first few steps, enrolling into LCI, my make-up brush business (Coming veryy soon!) and taking on a few make up gigs to immerse myself in the environment. I am also highly considering another step that will stenghten my make up passion further although it entails a really big investment so I really have to be sure about the current path I am taking. I have wanted nothing less now except for make up, I even stopped lemming about luxury bags haha so given that, here is my birthday Christmas list:

1) "I am also highly considering another step that will stenghten my make up passion further although it entails a really big investment so I really have to be sure about the current path I am taking." -- I really want this *fingers crossed*

2) A whole line of HD Makeup; Foundations/Concealers/Translucent Powder from: RCMA , Graftobian, Cinema Secrets.

3) Ben Nye Grand Lumiere Palette

4) Beauty Blender - I know some people selling it here but without the cleanser, but I am highly contemplating since I find PHP1200++ still quite expensive for just one sponge and no cleanser. So I dunno, I hope I get one for my birthday or Christmas. Or get my brother to buy one for me *ahem*ahem* Hello brother If you are reading this. :)

Basically right now, those are the things that I really want, I'm kind of obsessed about creating a perfect base for makeup thus the beauty blender and HD makeup. I have my Cinema Secrets ones but I still need some in other colors. Oh, there are some brands too that I want to try like: Joe Blasco, Face Atelier and Yaby Cosmetics.

Even though I'll be a year older this month, I'm glad to celebrate my Birthday and Christmas happy in love and beautiful because of makeup haha.

Fuschia Lips!

I was never a lipstick person, on a normal day, I would usually just dab on some lip balm and go. Eventhough I have a lot of lipsticks and I purchase a lot of lipsticks too, sad to say I hardly touch them. So given that, I am also conservative when it comes to lipstick shades. Whenever I do wear lipstick I stick to the neutrals, browns and nudes. I hardly do red, orange, purples or pinks because I reckon it doesn't suit me. Hence my idea for this FOTD.

FUSCHIA LIPS, this color is something I would never go out with since I really don't think it suits my color. But heck, I said i'll try it for this FOTD. :)

I was searching through the Internet and found a photo of Kim Kardashian sporting a fuschia lip and decided to use her image as an inspiration for my look. So here it is. :)

Face:
Cinema Secrets Concealer Palette Kit #2
Cinema Secrets foundation shade 49 and 62
RCMA Loose Powder to Set
NARS Bronzer in Casino
NARS Blush in Desire

Eyes:
MAC paintpot in Soft Ochre
120 Palette Silver all over lids
120 Paette Black for crease
MAC Liquid liner in Boot Black
AVON eye liner in black
Ever Bilena eye brow pencil in Brown

Lips:
Burt's Bees Lip Balm
32 Lip Palette Hot Pink Color
32 Lip Palette Fuschia Color

NYX Round Lip Gloss in Peach

At first I was pretty scared that I wouldn't be able to pull off the color and it will just look terrible on my skin color. It shocked me though at first as I was applying the first couple of strokes on my lips. But after the succeeding coats, it was sort of growing on me and I am happy at the outcome.

Here's Kim Kardashian's pic, my inspiration look for this FOTD. I love her skin, she's beautiful!

I'm happy that I was brave enough to try a bright color like fuschia for my lips. This is a first so I do hope that this is a start for trying more lipstick shades out there. :)

RCMA Translucent Powder and L'Oreal Hip

Finally got my RCMA translucent powder last Sunday! :) Like the Loew-Cornell brush, I was supposed to get this myself when I go to the States too. But again, to no surprise, I couldn't wait. Thank god Maui had an extra at home, so I bought hers. :)

"RCMA Powder will keep you dry without getting cakey, this powder will not change the color of your foundation."

Like what the description of the translucent powder says, I like putting this powder on my mom's bare face when she doesn't want to put on any foundation. I noticed that with this powder, it doesn't settle in her fine lines and wrinkles especially under her eyes. This can be used alone, for oil blotting and also to set foundation and concealers.

This product is comparable to Make Up Forever's HD Translucent Powder for a fraction of it's cost. So no need to worry about using too much on such an expensive product because with RCMA translucent powder the over used term "a little goes a log way" is really applicable hehe :)

Rid your powders and opt for a translucent powder like this one. It is very light on the face and there is no need to worry about being too white in pictures, because you are assured that no trace of the translucent powder will be shown. It vanishes like Magic!! :)

Another treat, when Maui came over Sunday night she also brought me a treat:

Wooohooo!! She gave me one of her L'Oreal HIP Cream Shadow Paint! :) Thank you so much! MWAHHHH!

She gave me shade 817 NERVY. Like how she describes the product, before companies decided to put "paint" in "pots" they were ones in "tubes" hehe.

The Packaging is very useful since when you open the lid, you'll find a little well where you can mix the shadow paint. This also comes with a small brush too!

The Brush is like a mini foundation brush, very dense :)

Here'e the product swatched on my hand using the mini brush it comes with:

This color and consistency will be perfect as base for a smokey look or I can even just use this alone on the lids, blended with a matte neutral color on the crease for a simple EOTD. :)

I love it! Thank you for the goodies Maui!!! :)

Toodles! :)
