3 Essential Lipstick Colors + an unexpected treat! :)

Early this week, I got myself 3 more NYX lipsticks from Chara. Even though I have tons of lipsticks and most of them are NYX, I couldn't resist since the colors that I got are what I consider essentials, the ones most used and can never run out of. These essential lip colors everyone needs in their kits are red, bright pink and a nude-ish color. That's why I was glad and ecstatic to see Chara had these colors available, and without hesitation I decided to get them. The colors I got from her was Louisiana, Electra and Echo.

Louisiana is a a really nice, vibrant bright pink color, think of Barbie's lip color. :) Electra is a true red color, so vampy and is said to be MAC Russian Red's dupe. While Echo is a nude lipstick perfect for those smokey looks to use alone or over other lipsticks to tame down color.

I will never run out of occassions, makeup gigs and events in which I can use these colors for. They are perfect in completing and or complementing your various make up looks. I can't wait to give it a test run and use it for my clients and on gigs soon! These lipstick colors will be scene stealers! :)

On another topic, I'd like to share with you girls a picture of Fabio Ide an up and coming model and actor here in the Philippines. It was such a pleasure to work with him again. Photo was taken by the wonderful RB Chanco from our shoot yesterday, If you look closely you can see me and Maui in the background haha. Now I will do some shameless plugging hehe because Fabio is irresistable, don't forget to watch his move D'Sruvivors together with other Brazilian/Japanese hotties Akihiro Sato and Daniel Matsunaga. This movie is screaming Brazilian meat!! Go watch it. :)

Enjoy Girls!!

Make Up For Ever Waterproof eye brow corrector

The hardest part of the make up for anyone's face in my opinion are the eye brows. The eye brows are crucial since they can make or break the look. The eye brows help frame the face, ugly/uneven eye brows can break the overall look no matter how good the rest of the make up is. That is why the eye brows are where I spend most time when doing make up for myself and other people. I have been eyeing Make Up For Ever's Waterproof Eye Brow Corrector for quite some time now but they always seem to be out of stock, luckily the other day, as I was having dinner in Serendra, I decided to drop by the MUFE store to check if they had some in stock. Lucky for me they did! :) Without hesitation I got one and couldn't wait to try it. :)

The shade that I chose is 0 the lightest color available.

This is a cream based eye brow corrector and when applied on skin becomes like second skin. Also did I mention that this is waterproof? Yes it is. So no more worrying about unconsciously rubbing your eyebrows and to find out that well you rubbed off too much! hehe This product applies so smoothly on your skin it looks so natural.

Here's a swatch of 0

I chose to get the lightest shade since this can also serve as a base. If i need a darker shade, I can just go over the MUFE corrector with any eye brow powder. It's always easier to darken the eyebrows instead of making them lighter. Another plus with this product is that it can also serve as eyebrow color ala MAC Brow Set. You only need a little drop to achieve perfect eyebrows so this will last you a long long time. Thus, making the hefty price of PHP1,280 definitely worth it, for its quality, longevity and usability. :)

I can't get over how hot it is here in Manila so all the more this waterproof eye brow corrector deserves a spot in your kit!

Earth day FOTD

Since we just recently celebrated Earth day, I decided to use my Maybeline quad for this Earth day inspired FOTD. Since I have yet to test this eye shadow quad that the boyfriend gave me, I decided to use it especially because of the bright green and browns inviting me. Green and brown very earthly yes? hehehe All of the eye shadows on the maybeline quad are actually all frosts so I wanted to see how I could pull off the all frost eye shadow look. Since I'm not used to using all frosts this was my challenge hehe. So overall, here's the look.

Here's another pic:

A closer look at my eyes:

How I did the look:
(All eye shadows frosted)
3rd from left green for lids
2nd from left bronze for crease
Rightmost color maroon for outer V
Leftmost color beige for brow highlighter

Overall, I really like how the all frosted colors turned out. I don't know if it's just because of the color combination or it just really isn't that bad. hehe Also, I was pretty amazed at how the shadow looked after a while, I thought it would be really crazy shimmery since if you swatch each shadow you can see pigments of the glitter/shimmers to it, but once you put them on, it's not the scary glittery/shimmer you see from your swatch. :) I would give the Maybeline quad a 4.5 out of 5 just because I'm still not one hundred percent fan of being an all shimmer/frost eye shadow girl. Hehe

Here's one more picture of me and my Earth Day Face tribute. :)

CSB Newsflash Fashion Wars

As written in my previous post, Fashion Shows are big experience generators in this business. This fashion show was no different. Me and Maui were invited to do make up for CSB's finals fashion show for their fashion design students. This year's theme was Newsflash Fashionwars. There were a total of 40 models to showcase the designs of dozens of students. The designs were impeccable and amazing!! There were a couple that i wanted to take home and hang in my wardrobe! The designers were all incredibly talented!

Here are some of the pictures on the runway of the models I did make up for.

Thank you to Sherman Cheung for the wonderful photographs! :)

The make up for the females was a clean smokey and for the guys, just contour. Although that sounds simple, our main enemy was again time. It was literally one model after the other, no breaks and no time to sit down. Hehe When the show started, I got a glimpse of the chaos backstage; the noise, the rush to get the next outfit on, retouching for make up, and the spray net infused air due to the endless hair spraying. Hehe Amidst all that, it was again very fullfilling to be part of a collective. :)

If you want to see the rest of the pictures of the models, feel free to visit my online portfolio at:

Regatta Fashion Show

A few weeks back, we had an early morning call time for a fashion show. The early call time was for a pr event fashion show for the new collection of Regatta. Me and a bunch of LCI classmates together with our mentor RB Chanco did the make up for the models. This event also marked the introduction of the Regatta ambassadors the very pretty chef Stephanie Zubiri and handsome director Paul Soriano.

It was such a wonderful event, definitely worth it given the early call time. hehe Here are some of the pictures from the fashion show of the models I did make up for, 1 female model named Kristin and 1 male model named Philip. :)

Thank you to www.spot.ph for the pictures! :)

Here's a picture of me with Kristin and Philip after the show. :) They were both so nice and very very friendly :) Doesn't Kristin look like Taylor Swift? hehehe

So everyone's favorite Fabio Ide was there as well for the show and as you may have read in Maui's blog, everyone had their picture taken with him as well, including me haha.

Anyway, fashion shows are such big experiences for me. It's sort of like live television, it is what it is: LIVE. Your main enemy is really time. You're on the go, they must be perfect, no second takes. Hayy. But it all went well and satisfaction comes after the show, and when you see the pictures. :)

Here's to more learning experiences! :)

MAC Goodies + FOTD

Isn't make-up fascinating? I have never been this much addicted in my life to any other thing but make up. My life doesn't feel complete if i had not made any make up purchase. It goes on endlessly, this love for make up. Sometimes you do it for the sake of having something new. You just want something new. Raise your hand girls if you feel this way too hehe.

My sister just arrived earlier today from Singapore and brought me these MAC goodies. These are the things I had asked her to buy due to an unforseen unfortunate event. This unfortunate event was me being OOS for the MAC Ombre blush in ripe peach in the 3 MAC stores ON THE VERY FIRST DAY! THE VERY FIRST DAY. In the Glorietta store I was a tad bit late when I arrived the last one had been purchased just minutes before. So the next day I went to Shangri-la at 11am (the day of their launch) to purchase my ripe peach but when i got there, LO AND BEHOLD, it was out of stock DUE TO RESERVATIONS. Now this really ticked me off, I have never wanted a blush as bad as this one. I felt so bad because I know reservations happen but I figured that they should at least keep a batch for walk-in customers not finish them all for reservations. The pring collection hadn't even started their launch and yet it was already OOS.

So out of frustration, I got my sister to buy me the ripe peach in Singapore. She called the store and said it wasn't to be launched till that friday and they DO NOT ACCEPT RESERVATIONS. I thought to myself thank god, how it should be. So my sister went that friday on the day of the launch and bought me my goodies. I also got the Springshine Ombre Blush and the MAC girlboy browset. Anyway still happy amidst my Ripe Peach Blush experience. hehe :)

New home for my toys / New Vanity Area :)

Hey girlies, just wanted to share with you my new lighted trolley train case. I have spent the past couple of weeks contemplating on what type of train case I was gonna get. I was due for an upgrade since my first train case was lacking space. And for make up gig purposes I figured it would be better to get a train case with a mirror. Originally I wanted one with legs but I ended up settling for this fine leather lighted trolley train case.

This is what its body looks like, it has a handle by the width side and one by the length side. It has 2 wheels and 2 stoppers and a pull up handle.

This is what it looks like when you open it, of course I was excited and transferred my necessary make up hehe. :)

Here's what it looks like when you pull the trays open:

Before choosing what train case to get, a big consideration for me was space. I needed a train case that could fit the necessary things I would need for a shoot. Second would be the fact that I wanted it to have a mirror and lights hehe. :)

Overall I'm really happy with what I got. Aesthetically it's sleek and classy because of its black leather trimming. It's big enough to fit what I need, It's an instant make up studio whatever location I may be in and the best part of it all, It doubles as my own vanity area when at home. :)

Yayyness!! :) :)

Estee Lauder Pure Color Eye Shadow Palette

Hi girls, it's been a while since I made a review post because of the crazy schedule I've had the past few months. But now, I'm back to do a review post on the Estee Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Palette. This is a gift from my bf from his recent visit back here in Manila. This was part of the huge loot he surprised me with. :) I told him I wanted make up and uhhh he got me tons it was overwhelming! :)

Anyway, back to the Estee Lauder palette. This palette is part of their Travel Exclusives, you know the ones you buy on the plane or at the duty free airport before boarding your plane (even at the airport he was buying me make up hehe). Personally I love looking through the Airplane magazine to check out their make up exclusives and want to buy them just for the sake of buying them. Hehe

Estimate Price: Around $59 USD

The Palette has 9 individual eye shadows all with a pearl/frost finish. It comes in a durable plastic case with a clear cover to easily identify the colors included. When you open the lid of the palette, there are two plastic protective cases over the eye shadows so that they remain unscratched and untouched until the buyer uses them. This palette also comes with two sponge applicators which for sanitary reasons I suggest not using. The size of each individual shadow is about the same size of a 25 centavo coin (as seen below).

Moving forward are the names of each shadow:

Top Row from l-r:
Cinnamon, Pink Quartz, Tea Biscuit

Middle Row from l-r:
Midnight, Pink Ice, Ginger Drop

Bottom Row from l-r:
Lilac, Amethyst, Camouflage

Here are the swatches of each color applied on hand without any primer:

Top Row from l-r:
Cinnamon, Pink Quartz, Tea Biscuit

Middle Row from l-r:
Midnight, Pink Ice, Ginger Drop

Bottom Row from l-r:
Lilac, Amethyst, Camouflage

Do you see how pigmented the shadows are? :) I was really impressed at how they looked after being swatched since I didn't expect that they would be this pigmented. This palette is worth getting since I see that all the colors on it are usable. I really love the LILAC color. You can't really see it on the image but when it is reflected on natural lighting, I love the effect it is giving with its pearl finish. This palette is definitely worth it.

The only con I see with this palette is that it may not be readily available anywhere since it is a Travel Exclusive. But I do suggest if you will be flying out anytime soon or have family flying to grab a hold of this set. The price may be a little steep but I assure you that it is worth the 9 shadows you will be getting! :)

Overall I am very happy with this palette, I can definitely use these colors and I'm glad that I have new colors to play with too! :)
