Avon Smooth Minerals Eye Shadow Duo

Don't you just love taking a second look at various products you have but thought was useless? It's just like finding treasure. :) One product that I always over look in my train case is this Avon Smooth Mineral Eye Shadow duo. It is a loose mineral eye shadow duo conveniently and neatly packaged together.

For anti spill and mess, each side has its own sifter and cover so that the 2 loose eye shadows do not mix. :)

This is what the packaging looks like when you take out the sifter. Clearly shown is the divider separating the 2 eye shadows. :) Looks at those colors, aren't they lovely? :)

Swatch of the eye shadows, the one on the left is a sort of pink + lavender color while the one on the right is a deep purple color. :)

These colors are so pretty I'm glad I took a second look at the product. Now I really can't wait to use it. :)

I also want to check out other colors Avon has for this line since this looks very promising. :) I'm just not too sure if they have this locally available.

Huurraayy to old discoveries! :)

HIP Matte Eyeshadow Duo in PERKY

Here's an eye shadow duo that I've had in my kit for quite some time but have never even swatched. For the past couple of weeks, I have been obsessed about bright colored matte eye shadows and have been in constant search for winner products. Looking in my kit, I realized surprise surprise I already have some hehe. Here's my HIP duo in Perky.

Perky is a duo of a bright almost neon green color and a dark dark blue almost gray color.

Here's the swatch of the eye shadows:

I really love the bright green colored shadow and these two colors would look good together. Another plus is the crazy pigmentation, it really is High Intensity Pigmentation. hehe

Here's the swatch on my Arm.

The quality swatched from the fingers and the arm showed the same quality and maintained the same amount of pigmentation.

I can't wait to use this product for my next looks. The only con I see though with this is that it is not available locally. :( So if you have family in the states better get them to stock up on these amazing products!! :)

Estee Lauder Pure Color Eye Shadow Palette

Hi girls, it's been a while since I made a review post because of the crazy schedule I've had the past few months. But now, I'm back to do a review post on the Estee Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Palette. This is a gift from my bf from his recent visit back here in Manila. This was part of the huge loot he surprised me with. :) I told him I wanted make up and uhhh he got me tons it was overwhelming! :)

Anyway, back to the Estee Lauder palette. This palette is part of their Travel Exclusives, you know the ones you buy on the plane or at the duty free airport before boarding your plane (even at the airport he was buying me make up hehe). Personally I love looking through the Airplane magazine to check out their make up exclusives and want to buy them just for the sake of buying them. Hehe

Estimate Price: Around $59 USD

The Palette has 9 individual eye shadows all with a pearl/frost finish. It comes in a durable plastic case with a clear cover to easily identify the colors included. When you open the lid of the palette, there are two plastic protective cases over the eye shadows so that they remain unscratched and untouched until the buyer uses them. This palette also comes with two sponge applicators which for sanitary reasons I suggest not using. The size of each individual shadow is about the same size of a 25 centavo coin (as seen below).

Moving forward are the names of each shadow:

Top Row from l-r:
Cinnamon, Pink Quartz, Tea Biscuit

Middle Row from l-r:
Midnight, Pink Ice, Ginger Drop

Bottom Row from l-r:
Lilac, Amethyst, Camouflage

Here are the swatches of each color applied on hand without any primer:

Top Row from l-r:
Cinnamon, Pink Quartz, Tea Biscuit

Middle Row from l-r:
Midnight, Pink Ice, Ginger Drop

Bottom Row from l-r:
Lilac, Amethyst, Camouflage

Do you see how pigmented the shadows are? :) I was really impressed at how they looked after being swatched since I didn't expect that they would be this pigmented. This palette is worth getting since I see that all the colors on it are usable. I really love the LILAC color. You can't really see it on the image but when it is reflected on natural lighting, I love the effect it is giving with its pearl finish. This palette is definitely worth it.

The only con I see with this palette is that it may not be readily available anywhere since it is a Travel Exclusive. But I do suggest if you will be flying out anytime soon or have family flying to grab a hold of this set. The price may be a little steep but I assure you that it is worth the 9 shadows you will be getting! :)

Overall I am very happy with this palette, I can definitely use these colors and I'm glad that I have new colors to play with too! :)

Greens EOTD

I did nothing today but sleep, watch TV read blogs and eat. So to break the cycle, I decided to do a bright EOTD. Color that I picked was none other than my favorite Greens. Green is my favorite color, and that includes all shades close to green hehe. So I didn't wonder why I ended up leaning towards the shades that I picked for this EOTD.

So here it is:

Right Click on images to view bigger

What I used:
MAC paintpot in Soft Ochre as base
120 Color Palette for all eyeshadows (see below)
Black Gel Liner
Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara
Dark Brown Eye Shadow for Eye Brow Filler

What I used in the 120 Palette:

Layer 1 of the 120 palette
1 - Base Color all over lids applied wet with Cinema Secrets moisture spray
2 - Inner corner of lids and lower lash line
3 - Middle Lid
4 - Outer corner of lid
5 - Outer Crease
I used a soft gold for browbone but it was in layer 2 and I forgot to take a pic :(

Here's me camwhoring:
Face:
Shiseido Balancing Foundation B80
MAC Studio Finish Concealer
Max Factor Translucent Powder
Flormar Terracotta Blush in #46
Pink/Mauve from 32 Lip Palette

I really love how the colors really pop out :) When I was applying each color it was really scary and strong. But eventually it started to mellow down once I started blending. In this EOTD i spent a good time on blending hehe. I used 2 different blending brushes. 1 was to apply shade number 5 and blend the outer corners while the other blending brush was used to apply the highlighter on the browbone and blend down to the crease color to soften. Nonetheless, I had fun doing this EOTD. :)

MAC Frost Eye Shadow in PHLOOF!

I read on a couple of blogs and forums about some people's HG highlighters. There were 3 popular MAC eye shadows that kept on appearing on peoples lists. These shades were Ricepaper, Nylon and PHLOOF!, other colors like Shroom and Vanilla only came secondary. Lucky that I was, I stumbled upon PHLOOF! on ebay at a cheaper price and purchased it right away. Here it is:

MAC Frost eye shadow in PHLOOF!

Taken without flash with source of direct sunlight

Swatch on my finger without flash
Swatch on my hand

MAC PHLOOF! can be best used as a highlighter on your browbones, lower lashline and inner corners of your lids to really open and brighten those eyes.

PHLOOF! used on brow bone only (bare lids, no other eyeshadow, concealer or base)

Without Flash
With Flash

After this, I guess I will jump on the bandwagon and add PHLOOF! as one of my HG highlighters. It serves its purpose and I especially love how the shimer is subtle but when used as a highlighter really intensifies and brightens your eyes even more. :)

I see it, Phloof! will be a favorite of mine this week hehe. What are your HG/Favorite highlighters?

Blessed Sunday Girls :)

New Falsies

Today was a long day at work, so much needs to be done and just thinking about it I can see how next week will be for me (over time galore!!). And oh did i mention that i have to work this weekend too? Blahhhhhhhh
So, before going home to make myself relax and feel better, I went around the mall and had a lot of "should I buy this?" moments. I was choosing over:

1. A Dress
2. A Skirt
3. Shoes
4. Falsies

And the Falsies won. So before dinner, I purchased 2 falsies at The Face Shop. I wanted to get all kinds, probably 5 of them, but I had to limit myself (bills time of the month). :( These lashes are very affordable though! They only run for PHP115!!!

So i was sooo excited to go home and try them. I decided to do a blue and brown shadow with the XL The Face Shop False lashes. I used:

Urban Decay Primer on my lids
Aqua Blue E/S from coastal scents 78 palette
Indigo Blue E/S from coastal scents 78 palette
Dark Plum E/S from coastal scents 28 neutral palette
MAC liquid liner

My application wasn't even haha

(Taken from mac photo booth hence quality)

Overall I would have to give these false lashes from The Face Shop 2 thumbs up. Because for its affordable cost you get good quality lashes that don't look cheap. I can definitely re-use these again to about 3 times. The glue included was amazing! It's easy to apply and it stuck on pretty quick with no mess whatsoever! So I highly recomend The Face Shop false eye lashes :)

I'm definitely going back for more.... but maybe in 2 weeks time haha.
