I've been Inked

I will deviate from the regular beauty related posts because today is dedicated for my motherland. This is supposed to be my 3rd time to vote as a citizen of this country. However the past 2 elections, I failed to register because simply I didn't want to, I thought it was a waste of my time, I was pessimistic.

This election was different, there was an urge to go out and register, I wanted to vote, my friends wanted to vote, the nation wanted to vote. This time around, I really felt the spirit of nationalism. I was at my precinct at 7am, the dawn of the voting. To my surprise, the precinct was already full and lines were starting to build up. As a first time voter, I had no idea if this was normal or not, but hearing other people complain deemed it wasn't. So I lined up in my cluster (a bunch of precincts put together) under the scorching sun, alone since the rest of my family members were in another cluster. 1 hour later, i stayed put and the line had not moved. After half an hour, my mom handed me water, then a hand fan until she handed me an umbrella. Given all these self coolers, nothing would last, it was crazy! 2 hours later at around 9:30am, i was still far from the voting area. By this time, I had already made friends with my neighbors in line. Sharing sentiments of the poor system in the precinct.

It was hot it was insane, but me and my new found friends stuck it out, without complaints. This is what we came out here to do, to vote, to be citizens. After almost 4 hours, we were already by the precinct, by the machine. Almost 4 hours in line, less than 5 minutes of voting. That's a small sacrifice for the betterment of the country. Of course there were tons of hard headed individuals who kept on complaining about practically everything. People who cut through lines, people who lie and try to get their way. But this is something I learned about today. Corruption is not defined by the monetary gains of an individual, it is defined by simple people who fail to follow rules. These non politicians who are corrupt by their attitudes are the ones who make this country slow to progress.

On the other hand I am very proud of everyone who waited in line to vote. This has been an experience of a lifetime. :)

Here's me and my finger with indelible ink. And in true no beauty post, I am bare and have no make up on (que horror!!!!). Hehe

For those who haven't voted, go out and vote. Voting is extended till 7pm! :)

NARS Blush Duo in Albatross and Sin

After our class yesterday, me and Maui went around glorietta to check on a few more Make Up items that we still were lacking. We practically went around all the make up stores and somehow couldn't realy find what we were looking for. When we passed by the NARS stall, I swatched NICO highlighter blush and fell in love! But I had to remind myself IT IS NOT PART OF THE LIST I NEED FOR SCHOOL. So we left and I couldn't stop thinking about it. Until Maui left to go home and I was left alone waiting for my college friends.

So what happened? I went back to the Nars stall to have a "second look". Hahaha Robbie the SA in glorietta was super friendly and help full. He recommended me the NARS blush in SIN first and applied on my cheeks. By then I was convinced of getting the SIN over NICO. But I just couldn't get over NICO still coz it was soo beautiful. The Robbie tells me that there is a DUO blush in SIN and ALBATROSS, a sort of close highlighting shade from NICO. So he showed me, applied it just above my cheekbone, brow bone and above my eye brows. And the duo was just stunning. So yes I ended up getting it. :) Robbie also included some samples of foundations so he made me very happy :)

Here it is:

Albatross and Sin

Swatch on fingers
Left: Albatross Right: Sin

Both the sin and albatross are very pigmented and both are perfect together. Price is a little steep though at PHP1950 although it is definitely worth it and cost efficient for getting the duo as oppose to single blush purchase priced at PHP1350.

Here's me using Sin and Albatross at only one side of my face hehe

What I used for the rest of my face:
MAX FACTOR loose translucent powder
NYX Thalia lipstick
Ardell Brow filler

As of the moment my 30pc brush set is drying from the bath I gave them this morning, I really hope to try and test them sooon!!! Can't wait hehe :)

Happy Sunday Everyone, be happy Pacquiao just made himself Millions of dollars richer, let's hope and pray that he decides to donate the money to pay the debts of the Philippines hahaha!

Politics: Hindi ka nag iisa

Saw this over Chuvaness' blog. I just have to share it.

My initial thoughts (warning these are my personal opinions only):

- I have nothing against politics, nor do I have anything against show business. But this video just proved that Politics and Show Business is one and the same thing. Sad.

- It looks like a promo video for an up and coming Teleserye or a Station ID. Ergo, our nation as a teleserye?

- Very Costly, even though it was paid by friends, don't think there was much marketing thought out for this. Why a song?

- There is no recall in the song.

- "Hindi ka nag iisa" has no recall for me too.

- Can I just say Mariel and Marian were sooo beautiful in this hehe.

- Kris was the only one n Black, it looks like she's the one running instead of NoyNoy.

- On the other hand I am doing them a favor posting this for more people to see. lol

I have no Political favorites yet, I have a clean even slate. Let's see what's more to come. Everyone has to do their job and really vote wisely. Like advertising, know the candidates, know who they are, because everyone should have a right to choose and vote. Hopefully people know how to choose for the right reasons.

Update: I just saw the whole ad/song on TV just now. And really.. it's too melo-dramatic rather than uplifting.

What is our world coming to?

As you may all know, last Saturday, Philippines was hit with Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy its Philippine name) and affected areas in metro manila, its neighboring cities and northern Luzon.

The sudden gush of rains caused floods and landslides left hundreds dead, thousands missing, hundreds of thousands losing their homes and a whole nation in shock with. To date, there are still towns unreachable and people who have yet to eat since Saturday. The whole nation has come together to help all those affected and need rescue and relief. It truly is uplifting seeing the people come together. But now, not even a week after and not even close to recovert, a SUPER TYPHOON is about to come in the country tonight.

Unbelieveable? Believe it. A super typhoon, is the highest and strongest typhoon classification to date in the world. A super typhoon is classified as winds from 240KPH and above.

This breaks my heart, because we have yet to recover and here comes another typhoon, a super typhoon! Stronger and bigger than the one that just passed us. Imagine the damage this one can do. To get a better understanding of what I'm talking about, watch the weather forecast of CNN for today below:

Look at the size of "PARMA" the Super Typhoon coming our way! This is not a good thing.. We need everyones prayers.

Here's a satelite shot of massive PARMA over The Philippines.

Please help us in praying that PARMA decides to take another direction and just eventually goes away. There is too much happening in the world right now. Earthquakes, Tsunamis and Super Typhoons. It is all happening too soon and close to each other, very surreal. I thought things like these only happen in movies.

Help us pray. This is really saddening.

What is our world coming to?

Seis - Proof read!

Came upon this in the office today, I found it hilarious, we couldn't get over it haha. I can understand when reporters are live on air, make this mistake and correct themselves instantly. But this? That's what proof reading is for. Caahmannn, such a big thing to miss out.

Here's what I'm talking about:

I had no ddea she died too over the weekend, did you? lol Kidding aside, there are big consequences for careless actions like these like scaring your paper's reputation. How sad, I feel sad for whoever wrote it and forgot to proof read. Oh well, we will expect one big long apology page dedicated for this soon. Haha

Cinco - Today is officially Yellow day

So we are here, at Starbucks Santana Grove waiting for Tita Cory's remains to pass by to head off to Manila Memorial.

There are soo many people here at Starbucks. We were lucky enough to get a parking slot right by Sucat road. So by the time that the processions passes by we can watch from the roof of our cars. It is overwhelming seeing all these people here. There are people from all walks of life. As a matter of fact my mom made new friends. Hehe. We'll be here for quite some time since the procession is by Luneta as of the moment. Here are a few pics, will update once i get more pics of the actual procession.

Tres - Tita Cory

I actually had no plans on watching Former President Cory Aquino's procession along ayala ave although during lunch I realized the streets in Legaspi Village were so empty. So after a quick lunch, me and Gelo took the little walk to Ayala Ave. And Like what the TV had reported the place was raining Confetti/Shreded office paper/yellow pages. Haha Me and Gelo did not attempt to go to the front of the pack therefore we stayed along the walk way in front of enterprise.

The moment when Cory's coffin passed us, it was uplifting. I have never been part of anything like it before (since i'm a people power baby). It was good feeling that I was a part of History in some way or another by being there. And seeing all those people there gave me hope that the Filipinos do care about their Nation. And there, in the coffin, was the first lady President in Asia and the first to let the Filipinos know, that Democracy does exist and we have hope. Now that she's gone I hope that the Filipino people will continue to make smart decisions and elect someone to power who can represent not only our people but also our democracy.
