FOTD inspired by Makeup by Mario

It's been a while since my last FOTD so I decided to do one for today. One of my favorite make up artist is Mario Dedivanovic. He does make up for tons of stars like Kim Kardashian, Adriene Bailon and a whole lot more. I really love how he puts on make up for his clients. What I noticed about all his looks is that he creates a perfect base making the face look uber flawless. He doesn't use so much products also, but he stil manages to accentuate the best features of a person's face.

My inspiration for this look was Kim Kardashian's Birthday Look. I didn't have the exact products Mario used for her face but I tried nonetheless using the products I do have. Here's my interpretation:

Pics taken using SLR with Flash

Pics taken using Photobooth (no flash)

I just realized I look so different with the flash and with the photos taken from the Photobooth. Most probably because with the Photobooth, you can't really distinguish my hair color and my contacts aren't seen hehe. Oh well, here's what I used to achieve the look:

FACE
Cinema Secrets Foundation in 62
MAX Factor Translucent Powder to set
Nichido Blush in Peach Glow
Smashbox Fusion soft lights in Baked Starburst
MAC Iridescent powder in Belightful

EYES
Cinema Secrets Concealer palette in Kit #2
Light Gold from 120 Color Palette for lids and brow bone
Copper Bronze from 120 Color Palette for Crease
Avon eye liner
Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara
Brown eye shadow from 28 Neutral Palette

LIPS
01 Nude Lip Liner from Ever Bilena
NYX Circe lipstick
MAC Oyster Girl Lipglass

BRUSHES
All brushes used are from the Dashe 30pc Set! Yayyy finally tried them! :)

I really love reading Mario's blog checking out his latest works. I wish to be his client one day! He's awesome! hehe

Who are your favorite make up artsts?

NARS Blush Duo in Albatross and Sin

After our class yesterday, me and Maui went around glorietta to check on a few more Make Up items that we still were lacking. We practically went around all the make up stores and somehow couldn't realy find what we were looking for. When we passed by the NARS stall, I swatched NICO highlighter blush and fell in love! But I had to remind myself IT IS NOT PART OF THE LIST I NEED FOR SCHOOL. So we left and I couldn't stop thinking about it. Until Maui left to go home and I was left alone waiting for my college friends.

So what happened? I went back to the Nars stall to have a "second look". Hahaha Robbie the SA in glorietta was super friendly and help full. He recommended me the NARS blush in SIN first and applied on my cheeks. By then I was convinced of getting the SIN over NICO. But I just couldn't get over NICO still coz it was soo beautiful. The Robbie tells me that there is a DUO blush in SIN and ALBATROSS, a sort of close highlighting shade from NICO. So he showed me, applied it just above my cheekbone, brow bone and above my eye brows. And the duo was just stunning. So yes I ended up getting it. :) Robbie also included some samples of foundations so he made me very happy :)

Here it is:

Albatross and Sin

Swatch on fingers
Left: Albatross Right: Sin

Both the sin and albatross are very pigmented and both are perfect together. Price is a little steep though at PHP1950 although it is definitely worth it and cost efficient for getting the duo as oppose to single blush purchase priced at PHP1350.

Here's me using Sin and Albatross at only one side of my face hehe

What I used for the rest of my face:
MAX FACTOR loose translucent powder
NYX Thalia lipstick
Ardell Brow filler

As of the moment my 30pc brush set is drying from the bath I gave them this morning, I really hope to try and test them sooon!!! Can't wait hehe :)

Happy Sunday Everyone, be happy Pacquiao just made himself Millions of dollars richer, let's hope and pray that he decides to donate the money to pay the debts of the Philippines hahaha!

Dashe Cosmetics 30pc Brush Set

Okay, I just can't wait to post this. When I got home today/tonight/this morning (it was already 12mn) lol, I was so happy to see a package waiting for me! By the way before I could get inside the house, me, my sister and the house helps were locked outside, we had to get a stick to get the key haha long story. So given that you could imagine the relief once I stepped foot inside the house, better yet to see a package waiting for me yes? :)

Anyway Me and Maui had ordered one set of Dashe Cosmetics 30pc brush set each to use for school. Even though we both had tons of brushes those are all personal, we decided to get one for school and future clients. Because I'm so excited about it, I just can't wait to share it with everyone!!

Here are pics of the set:

(Please click image to enlarge)

Comes in a leather case

When open

Each brush actually came in its individual plastic, but I took it out because, let's be real, I'm gonna end up losing some of the plastic in a couple of days and I just don't want to go through the "it looks so nice since its new nobody touch it and keep it in the plastic" phase. If i let that happen then I'll never get to test them hahaha!

Closer Look

Each brush has Dashe Cosmetics printed on them with a cute crown design

Looking at all the brushes is really over whelming since there are 30 of them. And as much as I want to try them all, they need a bath first. Haha But off hand, this blending brush was an eye catcher for me, so dense I can't wait to use it:

Yayyy to my new brush set for school! :) I totally love it. I Promise to do an in depth review on the brushes included in this set. But first, I have to go to wash them and uhh get ready for bed. School starts later!

Oh btw, I saw some commarts friends earlier in greenbelt, Lace and Adie to be exact. Just wanted to thank them for reading my blog, it's good to know I have non bloggers who read my blog hehe! And yes Lace I will blogsale soon! :) Promise to put on make up for you guys soon! Thanks soo much!! Mwahhsss

Product Spotlight: MUFE Sculpting Kit #03

Hey girls, decided to do a review today on MAKE UP FOR EVER SCULPTING KIT in 03.
This was a gift given by my boyfriend back in April when he came here to visit me in Manila. He brought along this sculpting kit and like 3 other paper bags full of goodies from Sephora. It was LOVE. Hehe

Anyway, I only have 2 sculpting kits. I have the 6-pc coastal scents/dollface cosmetix contour palette and this one. On regular days If I put on make up at home, I use the contour palette, on other days especially if I am not home I use the MUFE kit. Basically because MUFE is always in my kikay kit I dont see it when I put on make up at home. So when I need to do make up outside, MUFE it is :) So let's begin:

Without FlashWith Flash(medium red brown/ ivory beige)
Size of compact: 5inches x 2inches
Size of each pan: 2inches

Each shade comes in its own pan thus lessening both colors mixing together. I really love the fact that I can bring this compact anywhere with me since it fits in any small bag. The pans are also refillable with a little hole at the back to push the pans out. The colors are great too, here are the swatches:

On Fingers

On Skin

What can I say, the boyfriend really knows how to choose the right color for me. The colors are just right on my skin, of course with a lot of blending. I use an Angled Blush Brush for my contour and highlighting with this product. This palette really does a good job and extra snaps for it being refillable eh? :)

To run things down, here are what I like and don't like about the product.

Likes:
- Brand has 4 types of shade kits to choose from
- Contour and Highlight comes in separate pans
- Refillable
- Pigmented therefore lasting me forever (Ive ad mine for more than 6 months and i'm not even 1/4 into the pan)
- Super portable!

Dislikes:
- Pricey!! $45 a kit (approx. PHP2,000)
- The clear cover gets scratchy :( I just want it to look new forever hehe

Will I repurchase? Probably not since mine will last me a loong time. :)

I definitely recomend this kit from Make Up Forever. Maybe not in the exact shade but, the product overall is superb! :) I don't know how this product will compare to MAC's Sculpt and Shape since I don't have one. But I definitely want one to compare hehe *ahem*ahem* lol

How about you lovelies? What is your favorite Contour and Highlight Product? :)

Sugar Overload and 180 Cinema

Hi Guys, today is sugar overload day! :(( Met up with Maui at the bank to pay for something, then we headed to the vet, accompanied her to get her nails and toes done and then did some bonding time at Starbucks.

I had a sugar overload. My system is super craving for sugar and it is not good. I ordered one Grande Toffee Nut Frappe and one Caramel Belgian Waffle and gobbled it up in like 5 mins. It was so good haay. But now it doesn't feel good, parents brought home a feast for dinner. and I AM OVER STUFFED. I don't know what I've done to myself. It's like A fire argues? In my tummy that is. Waahh I NEED TO DIET!!!

Sigh speaking of Starbucks, I rarely Starbucks because I KNOW IT'S TOO MUCH SUGAR and spending PHP300 for coffee and a snack regularly is just expensive. My only exception are the Christmas Cups and the Yearly Planner which I haven't missed out on. But I really don't like the recent planner. Has little room to write in. But yes, still I put myself on a Sugar overload and made myself spend I am crazy. NOW DIET. :((

Anyway on a lighter (I wish I was lighter haha okay crazy me talking) note for those who haven't voted, please log on to www.180cinema.net and vote for the short films "Bisita" and "3PM".

These films were directed by my good friend Ivan Payawal. :) Please don't hesitate in leaving a comment too.

I just needed to let it out, too much sugar in my body is affecting my mental state haha!

RCMA Translucent Powder and L'Oreal Hip

Finally got my RCMA translucent powder last Sunday! :) Like the Loew-Cornell brush, I was supposed to get this myself when I go to the States too. But again, to no surprise, I couldn't wait. Thank god Maui had an extra at home, so I bought hers. :)

"RCMA Powder will keep you dry without getting cakey, this powder will not change the color of your foundation."

Like what the description of the translucent powder says, I like putting this powder on my mom's bare face when she doesn't want to put on any foundation. I noticed that with this powder, it doesn't settle in her fine lines and wrinkles especially under her eyes. This can be used alone, for oil blotting and also to set foundation and concealers.

This product is comparable to Make Up Forever's HD Translucent Powder for a fraction of it's cost. So no need to worry about using too much on such an expensive product because with RCMA translucent powder the over used term "a little goes a log way" is really applicable hehe :)

Rid your powders and opt for a translucent powder like this one. It is very light on the face and there is no need to worry about being too white in pictures, because you are assured that no trace of the translucent powder will be shown. It vanishes like Magic!! :)

Another treat, when Maui came over Sunday night she also brought me a treat:

Wooohooo!! She gave me one of her L'Oreal HIP Cream Shadow Paint! :) Thank you so much! MWAHHHH!

She gave me shade 817 NERVY. Like how she describes the product, before companies decided to put "paint" in "pots" they were ones in "tubes" hehe.

The Packaging is very useful since when you open the lid, you'll find a little well where you can mix the shadow paint. This also comes with a small brush too!

The Brush is like a mini foundation brush, very dense :)

Here'e the product swatched on my hand using the mini brush it comes with:

This color and consistency will be perfect as base for a smokey look or I can even just use this alone on the lids, blended with a matte neutral color on the crease for a simple EOTD. :)

I love it! Thank you for the goodies Maui!!! :)

Toodles! :)

Loew-Cornell 3/8 Maxine's Mop

A few days ago when i blog reading, I read that Digital Train Case shop already had the Loew Cornell 3/8 Maxine's Mop brush on hand! I had been waiting for the brush to arrive in Digital Train Case since I saw that she was going to sell them. So without further a do, I went ahead and reserved myself 1 brush. I actually wanted 2, but then I realized that will be overkill since I have tons of brushes already haha. Well originally I wasn't going to get any and buy them myself when I go to Michael's craft store and go crazy at the brush stands, but surprise! I couldn't wait. Haha So just 1 it is.

I was so happy when I got home today that my package had arrived. :)

First heard about these brushes from Maui of course and I would often see tutorials using this brush too along side with the other Maxine Mops like the 1/2 and 1/4. But amongst all of the Maxine Mops, the 3/8 is the most popular because it is said to be a dupe or the MAC 239 brush. :)

But either way in my opinion, dupe or no dupe. It really does the job well done. The brush is so dense, to ensure you of all that color packing on those lids. I'm so happy!! :)

Now, I can totally imagine myself hoarding Loew-Cornell brushes in the craft store. I can't wait! hehe :)

Product Spotlight: 32 Lip Palette (compact)

Hi Girls, the start of my week has been a busy one. Yesterday was spent running errands in the morning and then off to the commercial shoot by lunchtime. Got home at 12 midnight from the shoot and was just drop dead tired. This morning, I met up with my friend Meryll (who by the way I have also influenced in the whole make up world, I hope she starts blogging soon!) then I had an Interview for a company that called me yesterday. It was a good interview and I have a final interview on Thursday. I really have to think long and hard about this job since it's a very good offer. But thus meaning less time for my make-up interests, my business and nearing travel plans. Sigh I hope everything goes well :)

Anyway, since I've been pretty busy, I've decided to jump start this post with a review on the 32 Lip Palette (compact version).

Here it is:
I put name stickers on all my palettes and brushes hehe :)
Measures: 6 inches x 4 inches
Ingredients: Microcrystalline wax, microcrystal wax, beeswax, resin acid and rosin acids (c3H803 W99), brughtener, wool oil, Isooctyl Palmitate (C15H31C00C8H17), white minersl oil, Fatty acid methylesters (R-C00CH3), 2-propenyl ethanocate (C5H602), Color paste, pearlessence pearl powder.

Each lip pan is about the size of a 10 centavo coin

Here are swatches of all 32 lip colors per row

I applied the swatches using 1 lip brush, sanitizing and wiping off each color before swatching the next color. Overall, this palette surprised me. I originally wanted the bigger palette since it looked more worth it. But after swatching, all of the colors and looking at how they pay off. I am impressed and happy at my purchase.

All of the colors are very pigmented as shown in the swatches. Each color was swatched softly with the lightest hand. A little goes a long way. I just wished there were more colors variations. There are too many similar colors.

Although I didn't attempt swatching them on my lips because I knew that they wouldn suit me. The colors on this palette would best suit girls with lighter skin tone. At least this handy palette would do its work for school! :)

I just need to store my palette in the fridge for a night since some of the colors are softer than the others. like this one below:

Compare the soft swatch on the other pans to the the one in the middle. :( Hope it doesn't happen again. I guess this palette sleeps in the fridge tonight. :)

Anyway I am happy with this palette, the pinks are my favorites and I can't wait to use this for school. :)

Virgin Hair No More!

Hi girls, today I woke up early to go with my mom to her hairstylist. I am not a hair person really. I own 1 brush and I hardly use it. My hair is easily fixable so I am a no maintenance girl. I get my hair cut ONCE a year if I feel like it, but otherwise I don't hehe.

So today was a big step for me, I decided to have my hair colored FOR THE FIRST TIME! Yes I have virgin hair when it comes to hair dye. My hair is straight as ever. There was this one time I wanted to curl my hair so I did. But after 3 and a half hours of medicine in my hair, it was still straight super straight. My hair is frustrating, i can't even curl it with an iron and make it last at least 1 hour.

But anyway I decided to try out my mom's hairstylist.

By the way my hair is naturally jet black under normal lighting, and super duper dark brown under sunlight, here's a link to my last photo with my jet black hair. :)

And now here is me:

NOT! Haha I wish this was me, this is just the inspiration hair color that I wanted. Plus she's hot and her make up is great so I wanted it too. Haha

But here's the real me after the color.

Carter the hairstylist is so great with my hair, first he shampooed my hair, blow dried then cut it. After cutting he applied the color (take note he mixed 3 different colors to try and achieve the closest brown to the inspiration L'Oreal products only of course!) after about 1 and a half hours, rinsed my hair, blow dried and cut again. He is amazing!!

So for a first timer in hair color, I am super happy with the outcome. It's not too loud and unnatural, the exact thing that feared me in getting my hair colored before. It's kind of a challenge since I have morena skin. You really have to pick best what suits your skin color.

And I'm glad I had my hair done at carters because he's not out there to get money from you, he'll suggest what really needs to be done. :)

If you girls are wondering where Carter's salon is, his Salon is in San Pedro Laguna. Hehe Far from Paranaque I know but my mom goes all the way there for a reason. And I now share that reason with her. :)
