Product Spotlight: 32 Lip Palette (compact)

Hi Girls, the start of my week has been a busy one. Yesterday was spent running errands in the morning and then off to the commercial shoot by lunchtime. Got home at 12 midnight from the shoot and was just drop dead tired. This morning, I met up with my friend Meryll (who by the way I have also influenced in the whole make up world, I hope she starts blogging soon!) then I had an Interview for a company that called me yesterday. It was a good interview and I have a final interview on Thursday. I really have to think long and hard about this job since it's a very good offer. But thus meaning less time for my make-up interests, my business and nearing travel plans. Sigh I hope everything goes well :)

Anyway, since I've been pretty busy, I've decided to jump start this post with a review on the 32 Lip Palette (compact version).

Here it is:
I put name stickers on all my palettes and brushes hehe :)
Measures: 6 inches x 4 inches
Ingredients: Microcrystalline wax, microcrystal wax, beeswax, resin acid and rosin acids (c3H803 W99), brughtener, wool oil, Isooctyl Palmitate (C15H31C00C8H17), white minersl oil, Fatty acid methylesters (R-C00CH3), 2-propenyl ethanocate (C5H602), Color paste, pearlessence pearl powder.

I applied the swatches using 1 lip brush, sanitizing and wiping off each color before swatching the next color. Overall, this palette surprised me. I originally wanted the bigger palette since it looked more worth it. But after swatching, all of the colors and looking at how they pay off. I am impressed and happy at my purchase.

All of the colors are very pigmented as shown in the swatches. Each color was swatched softly with the lightest hand. A little goes a long way. I just wished there were more colors variations. There are too many similar colors.

Although I didn't attempt swatching them on my lips because I knew that they wouldn suit me. The colors on this palette would best suit girls with lighter skin tone. At least this handy palette would do its work for school! :)

I just need to store my palette in the fridge for a night since some of the colors are softer than the others. like this one below:

Compare the soft swatch on the other pans to the the one in the middle. :( Hope it doesn't happen again. I guess this palette sleeps in the fridge tonight. :)

Anyway I am happy with this palette, the pinks are my favorites and I can't wait to use this for school. :)

Virgin Hair No More!

Hi girls, today I woke up early to go with my mom to her hairstylist. I am not a hair person really. I own 1 brush and I hardly use it. My hair is easily fixable so I am a no maintenance girl. I get my hair cut ONCE a year if I feel like it, but otherwise I don't hehe.

So today was a big step for me, I decided to have my hair colored FOR THE FIRST TIME! Yes I have virgin hair when it comes to hair dye. My hair is straight as ever. There was this one time I wanted to curl my hair so I did. But after 3 and a half hours of medicine in my hair, it was still straight super straight. My hair is frustrating, i can't even curl it with an iron and make it last at least 1 hour.

But anyway I decided to try out my mom's hairstylist.

By the way my hair is naturally jet black under normal lighting, and super duper dark brown under sunlight, here's a link to my last photo with my jet black hair. :)

And now here is me:

NOT! Haha I wish this was me, this is just the inspiration hair color that I wanted. Plus she's hot and her make up is great so I wanted it too. Haha

But here's the real me after the color.

Carter the hairstylist is so great with my hair, first he shampooed my hair, blow dried then cut it. After cutting he applied the color (take note he mixed 3 different colors to try and achieve the closest brown to the inspiration L'Oreal products only of course!) after about 1 and a half hours, rinsed my hair, blow dried and cut again. He is amazing!!

So for a first timer in hair color, I am super happy with the outcome. It's not too loud and unnatural, the exact thing that feared me in getting my hair colored before. It's kind of a challenge since I have morena skin. You really have to pick best what suits your skin color.

And I'm glad I had my hair done at carters because he's not out there to get money from you, he'll suggest what really needs to be done. :)

If you girls are wondering where Carter's salon is, his Salon is in San Pedro Laguna. Hehe Far from Paranaque I know but my mom goes all the way there for a reason. And I now share that reason with her. :)

Long Night

It started with a little allergic reaction that turned into non stop sneezing, a very blocked nose, A cough then to a fever and then finally blocked passage way. I couldn't breathe.

My nebulizer at home wasn't working so I had to go to the Hospital for the nebulizer. When I got there I was already having an unkown asthma attack. Unknown since I can't distinguish if it's an asthma attack or not hehe. Anyway I'm fine no biggie I just need to rest. So weird I hadn't done anything this week except stay home and sleep/blog/watch TV.

Oh well.

Just wanna share a pic of the nurses trying to put in the iv. or is that what it's called? It's that thing where they put a needle on your wrist so they can inject medicine straight to your veins. Anyway have a very high tolerance of pain, I've eventually learned how to tolerate pain since I'm allergic to Ibuprofen and all pain killers known to man. Sad right? hehe

I was at the hospital for about 2 and a half hours. Spent my time playing games on my sisters itouch as I had to be nebulized 3 times.

But I'm well now. I just really need to rest tomorrow. School starts on Saturday I can't miss that!

Goodnight girls!

ELF Blush Review: Peachy Keen & Mellow Mauve

Hi lovelies, It's been a rainy Wednesday in Manila and instead of going to Makati, I decided to stay home. I have a bad cold and a very runny nose! :( So instead I decided to do a review on my only 2 ELF blushes in Peachy Keen and Mello Mauve. I bought these blushes from Jen's blogsale about 1 month ago and decided to share with you all what I like and don't like about the product. :)

Overall, the packaging of the blushes are similar to that of NARS blushes. The only difference with ELF packaging is that it doesn't have the Matte-rubberry feel like Nars packaging. Also packaging of ELF has a clear plastic area, which is a plus for me since it will be easier to indicate what color blush is inside the packaging.

The blush itself is very nice. The first time I received it I was adorned with the subtle shimmer the blushes had. The blushes have a silky feel to them.

Out of the 2 shades I got, Peachy Keen is my better pick. The color looks better on my skin tone best for everyday looks.

Here's a rundown on ELF Blushes:

Likes:
- Packaging makes it easy to distinguish blush shade inside
- I like how subtle the shimmers are
- Very smooth on skin
- I got them cheap from jen at PHP400 for both new in box :)

Dislikes:
- Not very pigmented, I need a couple of strokes on my brush before getting a good amount of color.
- Not abundant in the Philippine Market

So here's me in my jammies using Peachy Keen teehee! :)

Politics: Hindi ka nag iisa

Saw this over Chuvaness' blog. I just have to share it.

My initial thoughts (warning these are my personal opinions only):

- I have nothing against politics, nor do I have anything against show business. But this video just proved that Politics and Show Business is one and the same thing. Sad.

- It looks like a promo video for an up and coming Teleserye or a Station ID. Ergo, our nation as a teleserye?

- Very Costly, even though it was paid by friends, don't think there was much marketing thought out for this. Why a song?

- There is no recall in the song.

- "Hindi ka nag iisa" has no recall for me too.

- Can I just say Mariel and Marian were sooo beautiful in this hehe.

- Kris was the only one n Black, it looks like she's the one running instead of NoyNoy.

- On the other hand I am doing them a favor posting this for more people to see. lol

I have no Political favorites yet, I have a clean even slate. Let's see what's more to come. Everyone has to do their job and really vote wisely. Like advertising, know the candidates, know who they are, because everyone should have a right to choose and vote. Hopefully people know how to choose for the right reasons.

Update: I just saw the whole ad/song on TV just now. And really.. it's too melo-dramatic rather than uplifting.

Singapore goodies: Ardell Brow Defining Powder and Sasa Eye brow brush

My sister arrived from Singapore this morning and she brought home for me the best type of pasalubong ever; Cosmetics! haha

She got me Ardell's Brow Defining powder in Mink Brown and 1 Sasa Angled Eye Brow Brush. I originally wanted to try the ELF Brow set since the ones here at the mall are too light for me, but they also didn't have the color I wanted in Singapore so she got me Ardell Instead. My sister also got me the Sasa angled eye brow brush since she has one for herself and I tried it before it's quality was superb!

Ardell Brow Defining Shadow with Sasa Angled eye brow brush #E06

Swatch on my hand

Overall I am satisfied on how the Ardell looks on my brows. Naturally I have thick brows that need no coloring whatsoever. But there are time they look scarce to me and I just have to fill them up, and to lighten my face a little, I chose Dark brown to color my brows with since sometime the natural black brows I have look too over powering.

The Ardell powder came with a brush, but clumsy me I left it in the car probably haha. But I'm happy to use the Ardell with the Sasa Brush. :)

So here's to my first brow set. :) I really want the Mac Brow set next, I have to in my Order Mac List. So I do hope to get that soon! :)

How about for everyone else? What are your brow regimens? :)

Halloween was a blast

This has got to be the best halloween so far. Me and my friends had so much fun in our costumes. Our night started off at Galileo Enotica in Mandaluyong where we loaded up with all the wine we could have. Then we went off to have a bite to eat at Jalapeno and ended the night at Empire Club.

It was such a blast! Everyone was there and we were complete :) I had the worst hangover this morning haha.

I ended up as a 1920s Hollywood actress instead of being a seductive vampire. Blame the no electricity, because we had no power, I forgot and couldn't find my contacts and my headgear. Psshh. But oh well at least I had the red feathered boa to complete my new look. Speaking of the red feathered boa, It was shedding like crazy, every where I went I left a Red Feathered trail hahaha.

Pictures to follow. :)

How was your halloween? :)
